If you take a drink no one else will do the dying for you
Read not to contradict and confute, nor just to believe and take for granted but to weigh and consider
Hear them, read, mark, learn and inwardly digest
There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation
We of Alcoholics Anonymous, are more than one hundred men and women who have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body. To show other alcoholics precisely how we have recovered is the main purpose of this book

Conference approved literature & NON Conference approved material
"The term 'Conference-approved' describes written or audio-visual material approved by the Conference for publication by General Service Office of Alcoholics Anonymous. This process assures that everything in such literature is in accord with AA principles. Conference-approved material always deals with the recovery program of Alcoholics Anonymous or with information about the AA Fellowship. This came into effect at the General Service Conference of 1951 but did not nullify the many items of literature that preceded this date.
This term does not imply Conference disapproval of other material about AA and alcoholism. A great deal of literature helpful to alcoholics is published by others, and AA does not try to tell any individual member or group what he or she or they may or may not read." In accordance with AA guidelines such material is displayed separately, as space permits.
In todays climate one very important AA conference approved pamphlet is
